High School with College in mind: Two dual credit possible approaches

At our Blest Homeschool Academy, the High School curriculum is heavily decided by the high schooler. The love of learning and areas of interest must be decided by the person who will be taking those classes. I have designed two possible High School graduation choices for a dual credit minded student. One is the accelerated program with junior year graduation in mind or a 3-year high school plan, and a second choice with an optional fourth year with a specialization track comprised of sophomore-level college classes and skill-building classes. This fourth year works well for students who know a specific area they would like to study and provides them with the ability to try different types of colleges (i.e. private Christian college, large public university, Ivy league college, etc). This will allow them to further discern what kind of university environment they would prefer. Part of the learning process is having them reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their various classes and what an optimal learning experience looks like. The last year of High School is a great time of formation reflection as well as a time to dream big and ground oneself in as much truth and reality as one can find.
